Equipment for hope 2.0 – January 2024
It’s not just an investment in equipment, it’s an investment in children’s lives.
THE CHALLENGE: In Romania, there are approximately 1.5 million people with physical disabilities, of which 100,000 are children who need medical rehabilitation services. The average cost of a treatment is 1,000 euros and 70% of children do not have access to the services they need. I mean, 70,000 kids are in terrible pain, and 70,000 kids have no hope of ever getting better. They are children who were born with an associated disability or children who acquired the disability as a result of an accident or other diseases. There are children for whom the metaphorical step in fulfilling a dream falls in the shadows, behind the physical step they need more.
THE SOLUTION: Equipping the physical therapy room of the Balneoclimateric Children’s Sanatorium in Bușteni with modern and high-performance equipment, in order to improve the medical recovery services offered to children with locomotor disabilities.

EXPECTED IMPACT: In the next 10 years, 8,000 children will benefit from the new equipment, according to estimates. This number can increase if the sanatorium will be properly equipped.
