Together for Amara – 10th edition – December 2023
Together for Amara, the Pastel Association project from December 2023 has reached its 10th edition. For 10 years we have been making children’s Christmas in Amara feel like a normal and magical one, full of everything… as every child in the world deserves to feel it.
The challenge: Amara is the village that perfectly describes the harsh reality in Romania: families who live a hard life that lacks a lot, from basic food and minimum living conditions, to peace and warmth. The life of the children in the village of Amara is a sad one. Many of them are tormented not only by hunger for food, but also by emotional hunger, because their parents have gone to work in other countries, hoping for a better life.
The solution: To give every family in Amara a moment of normality in the form of a box of good things for body and soul. To be physically there at the Day Center to spend time with the little ones and give them, together with Santa Claus, the desired gifts.

What we did through partners, donors / social media influencers / channels on which we promoted this project:
- For 3 days, together with the volunteers, we sorted the donations of clothes, toys and food and started to assemble the boxes. During these days we also took care of purchasing all the food.
- We prepared 80 boxes full of essential food (flour, sugar, oil, rice, pasta, various canned goods and sweets), toys, games, clothes and shoes) which we gave to families in Amara before Christmas.
- Employees from the Lensa company took over the letters that the children wrote for Santa Claus, fulfilled their wishes and came at the center to enjoy when the little ones received the gifts.
- J’ai Bistrot joined us in organizing a charity concert for our cause. Ana Coman, Corina Sîrghi, Trupa Bazaar, Mihai Toma and George Vasile (Amara beneficiary) joined us and sang at the concert, and all the funds raised were donated for the benefit of the children of Amara.
- Valentin from Body Engineering organized a charity nutrition seminar for our cause, and his community helped us with the necessary resources to be able to fill the 80 boxes with products.
- JDE company employees bought board games for children.
- Students from School no. 11 “Ion Heliade Rădulescu” wanted to buy the children gifts that would make them happy. They left cute messages, sweets and colorful cards in the bags, conveying their warm thoughts for this Christmas.
- All the donations and purchases arrived at the Amara Day Center a few days before Christmas.
Our hearts are full of joy knowing that under the tree the children of Amara had the gifts they wanted, fruits and sweets to enjoy and food for the family table.
