Playground for inclusion 3.0 – June 2023

Playground for inclusion 3.0, pastel Association’s project in June 2023, translated into the organization of a play center at the Sfânta Maria School Center for Social inclusion in Curtea de Argeș, for the benefit of 64 children and 41 teachers. 

Problem: 64 children at the Center, aged 6 to 20, with intellectual and locomotive disabilities, Down syndrome, and other associated deficiencies, needed interactive educational materials that are proven to be the most effective in helping them understand the world more easily.

Solution: To offer the children at the Sfânta Maria School Center for Social inclusion in Curtea de Argeș a play center which would be equipped with educational materials that would make children with disabilities to fit in easier and to ensure them with the development they deserve. 

Partners: This project was made within the Pepcolandia 2023 program, financed by PEPCO ROMÂNIA and implemented by the CONCORDIA Humanitarian Organization.

What we did with the help of the partners, donors and trough the channels that we involved in the promotion of this project:

• On June 23rd, along 2 local Pepco volunteers, we managed to organize the play center with educational materials at the Sfânta Maria School Center for Social inclusion in Curtea de Argeș.
• The Playground for Inclusion was a project financed by PEPCO România, within the Pepcolandia program, administered at local level by CONCORDIA Humanitarian Organization. 
• Over 130 educational materials that were donated will help 64 children with special needs and 41 teachers who are very involved and dedicated to their work.
• The most important materials were toys promoting sensory integration, creativity, and the development of social abilities. 
• Our press release was picked up by over 10 publications: national, general and socially-oriented ones, but also local publications. 

„I would love to go to school as much as possible. If it weren’t for CSEI, I wouldn’t have known as much as I do”- was the incentive we loved from Olivia, one of the beneficiaries at the Sfânta Maria School Center for Social inclusion in Curtea de Argeș. It was all we needed to equip the play center and we are happy that this space will help Olivia and her colleagues to get to know more and more things about the world around them.
